CHICAGO -- Jose Quintana has never been consumed with personal numbers, but the Chicago White Sox left-hander admits that his last victory carried a little extra meaning. After earning the 10th win in a season for the first time in his career on Aug. 21 against Oakland, Quintana can now focus on piling up more wins starting Saturday against the Mariners.Quintana recorded nine wins in each of his past three seasons and was often the victim of not getting much run support. While that has been an issue at times this season -- including in each of his last three losses -- Quintana feels like he can breathe a bit easier after surpassing the double-digit win milestone.(Theres) more I can do, Quintana said Friday. (Ill take) one at a time. Im going to focus on tomorrow and try to get another win for my team.Quintana has had good control of his fastball of late and is making more of an effort to record quicker outs by attacking the strike zone more. Although his results of late have been mixed, surpassing the 10-win plateau may improve his focus even more.Im sure (10 wins) was a mental hurdle for him, manager Robin Ventura said Friday. Its similar when guys are close to knocking in 100 runs, it always seems like theyre trying to force it instead of just letting it happen. Or a guy is trying to hit his last homer to get to a big number. Youll see how long it takes somebody to get there. But the good part is I know hes not changing who he is. Hes probably feeling a little freer. On Saturday, Quintana will face Ariel Miranda, who will make his fourth start for the Mariners after being acquired from Baltimore. Miranda has gained no-decisions in all three of his previous four starts while earning a victory after pitching an inning of relief on Aug. 9 against Detroit.Manager Scott Servais said he has seen Miranda make steady progress, especially with his confidence in pitching at the major league level. He hasnt been in awe of any situation, Servais said Friday. I think hes handled what weve thrown at him very well. Hes open to trying different things whether its a different grip on a slider or add another pitch. Hes very coachable. The Mariners bullpen has been taxed of late as Seattles starters have struggled to go deep into games. The Mariners used five pitchers in Thursday nights 7-6 loss before Felix Hernandez worked 7 1/3 innings in Fridays 3-1 victory that required Servais to only use closer Edwin Diaz.Hernandezs long outing proved to be huge for Seattles relievers, which should make for an easier road the rest of this weekends series against the White Sox.(The bullpen) has been used a lot and its caught up with them a bit, Servais said. But every team is a little bit tired right now and we just have to figure out how to get through it.Air Max 180 Canada . With the amount of money given to players by their clubs these days, it is a wonder that so many of those teams allow the sport to continue to take away many of their assets so they can play for a different team in the middle of their season.St Helens head coach Keiron Cunningham insists Leeds Rhinos poor start to the season does not mean they will be easy to beat in Fridays Super League clash at Headingley, live on Sky Sports. The defending champions have lost four of their five league matches so far this year and also suffered a heavy defeat to the North Queensland Cowboys in the World Club Challenge. They looked to have turned a corner when narrowly beating Huddersfield Giants 20-16 a fortnight ago, but they were then swept aside 28-6 by Wigan Warriors last weekend. St Helens, on the other hand, are fourth in the table with four wins from five, including a 44-4 demolition of Wakefield Wildcats in their last outing. But Cunningham said: I dont think theres ever a good time to go to Headingley. Huddersfield went there a couple of weeks ago and nearly got the game, but Leeds are Leeds and they fight to the end and they end up picking up the two points.Leeds have gone to Wigan and they have been outstanding for 60 minutes or whatever it was, and then Wigan have got some tries towards the end of the game.We know what Leeds have got to offer and we know the challenges ahead of us as a team. Wigans John Bateman scores in the 28-6 win over Leeds last weekend We know what Leeds are going to do. They have not changed the way they play for a couple of years now, so Leeds are going to play that expansive type of game, and at the end of that you have got a Ryan Hall or a Kallum WWatkins or somebody running around the ball who is going to put someone through space - [Adam] Cuthbertson and all those middles offloading.ddddddddddddWe know what Leeds do; its about us and how we deal with that.Leeds will be boosted on Friday by the return of skipper Danny McGuire, Joel Moon, Carl Ablett and Brett Delaney.McGuire has been sidelined since the opening game of the season, while Moon and Delaney missed last weeks loss at Wigan with hamstring injuries. Ablett suffered an ankle injury in the defeat at Widnes in February. St Helens swept aside Wakefield Wildcats in their last outing However, second row Jimmy Keinhorst misses the game with a calf strain picked up against Wigan and Leeds are still without Tom Briscoe, Ashton Golding and Stevie Ward. For St Helens, Jack Owens returns for injured winger Adam Swift, while Travis Burns and Andre Savelio are also included.Leeds: Carl Ablett, Rob Burrow, Adam Cuthbertson, Brett Delaney, Beau Falloon, Brett Ferres, Keith Galloway, Mitch Garbutt, Ryan Hall, Ash Handley, Zak Hardaker, Jamie Jones-Buchanan, Danny McGuire, Joel Moon, Anthony Mullally, Brad Singleton, Liam Sutcliffe, Josh Walters, Kallum Watkins.St Helens: Kyle Amor, Travis Burns, Matty Dawson, Joe Greenwood, Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook, Shannon McDonnell, Tommy Makinson, Jack Owens, Dominique Peyroux, Greg Richards, James Roby, Andre Savelio, Lama Tasi, Luke Thompson, Jordan Turner, Atelea Vea, Alex Walmsley, Luke Walsh, Jon Wilkin.
