KIGALI Jim Palmer Orioles Jersey , June 27 (Xinhua) -- A roadmap to guide African countries' implementation of a declaration on immunization was launched here Tuesday at the first World Health Organization (WHO) Africa Health Forum.


The declaration, named the Addis Declaration on Immunization (ADI) was initially drafted and signed by ministers and other high-level representatives at the Ministerial Conference on Immunization in Africa last February. Heads of state from across Africa endorsed the ADI at the 28th African Union (AU) Summit held in Ethiopia's capital Addis Ababa in January.


The roadmap was developed in collaboration between the declaration's member states, AU commission, and WHO Offices in the African Region and Eastern Mediterranean Region, as well as immunization partners. It provides the member states with three specific strategies to accelerate progress toward universal access to immunization in Africa.
