The New Orleans Pelicans and former Indiana Pacers forward Solomon Hill have agreed to a four-year contract worth about $50 million, a person familiar with the negotiations said Friday. The person, who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the contract cannot be signed until July 7, said the contract is worth at least $48 million, with additional incentives of about $2 million.Later in the day, the Pelicans agreed to terms with veteran combo guard ETwaun Moore on a four-year, $34 million deal, which was announced by Moores agency, Priority Sports.Hills decision was influenced by a meeting with Pelicans personnel, including coach Alvin Gentry, shortly after free agency began Friday at midnight EDT, the person said.Hill is expected to enter training camp as a front-runner to start at small forward. Hill wrote on Twitter: Looking forward to continuing to live my dream with the (at)PelicansNBA.The 6-foot-7 Hill has averaged 6.0 points and 3.1 rebounds in his first three NBA seasons since the Pacers drafted him 23rd overall in 2013 out of Arizona. He averaged 4.2 points and 2.8 rebounds in a little more than 14 minutes during this past regular season, but his playing time rose dramatically late in the season as games took on greater importance. He wound up averaging 7.7 points and four rebounds in about 28 minutes per game during the Pacers seven-game, opening-round playoff series loss to Toronto. Now Hill will have a chance to explore his potential as a powerful, versatile wing player in a lineup headlined by All-Star forward Anthony Davis and guard Jrue Holiday.Hills acquisition also reduces the Pelicans reliance on small forward Quincy Pondexter, who helped New Orleans make the playoffs two seasons ago, but missed all of last season because of a setback during his recovery from microfracture surgery on his left knee.Moore spent the previous two seasons in Chicago and has earned the reputation as a hard-nosed, defensive-oriented guard who will bring some more toughness to the Pelicans backcourt. He averaged 7.5 points and shot 45 percent on 3-pointers last season.New Orleans won only 30 games and missed the playoffs last season, Gentrys first as the clubs coach. But the Pelicans were riddled with injuries to regulars, including Tyreke Evans (57 games missed), Eric Gordon (37 games missed), Davis (21 games missed), Holiday (17 games missed), Ryan Anderson (16 games missed) and Omer Asik (14 games missed).---AP Basketball Writer Jon Krawczynski contributed to this report.Eric Gordon Rockets Jersey . Im surprised I stayed up here this long.Miller has been a major disappointment after the Diamondbacks got him in an offseason trade with Atlanta for outfielder Ender Inciarte, 2015 No. 1 overall draft pick Dansby Swanson and top pitching prospect Aaron Blair. We just have to find a way to get him back to pitching the way he can, manager Chip Hale said. The right-hander is 2-9 with a 7.14 ERA. He was on the disabled list with a finger injury and worked in the minors to find his form. After some progress in is return, Miller had another rough night last week in a 13-6 home loss to San Diego. After blanking the Padres for three innings, he gave up five runs in the fourth when Arizona had a 4-0 lead. His stuff was good at times, good enough to win here, Hale said. He just couldnt put it together, so hell go down there, work on it and pitch his way back to the big leagues.Immediately after giving up so much to get Miller, the Diamondbacks penciled him in as the No. 2 starter behind Zack Greinke. But the team stumbled out of the gate and finds itself in last place in the NL West (38-52), 19 games behind first-place San Francisco.I told him were not going to be the team that we envisioned without him being who Shelby Miller can be, Hale said. That was my message.Hale said left-hander Edwin Escobar would be called up from Reno to take Miillers roster spot.dddddddddddd Escobar will work out of the bullpen, Hale said, and Zack Godley will be recalled from Reno to start Tuesday against Toronto.Miller said he pored over videos of his pitching during the break and said he saw some differences between this year and last. The biggest thing is to get back to maybe a little bit simpler and not so much forcing things and trying to make a perfect pitch, he said. I think thats when mechanics come easier and everything kind of flows and feels free. Hopefully I can get to that point and get back up here.Hale said Millers mechanics seem the same as they were last season. The mental side of it is just really hard to deal with, Hale said. When you dont have success, it festers and it gets worse.Hale called it a disappointing move for us to make as coaches. We feel like were here to make them better, make them better ballplayers and pitchers, he said, and weve dropped the ball with him.Miller said he had no idea how long hed be gone.It could be the rest of the year, it could be a couple of weeks, who knows, he said.Hale said Miller would have to earn his way back, like any other player. Its a performance-based game, Hale said. The Diamondbacks also dont have Greinke, who they signed to a six-year, $206.5 million contract in the offseason. Hes on the 15-day disabled list with a strained oblique.Arizona is home against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday night. ' ' '
